₱, PHP and the price of a full coin

PHP is the international code for the Philippine peso, and ₱ is its sign. So 1 BTC to PHP simply asks what one complete bitcoin costs in pesos, and the answer is the live figure at the top of this page.

That figure runs into the millions of pesos. It is useful as a yardstick, but it says nothing about how much you need. Bitcoin splits into 100 million units called sats, so a balance can be any size, from a few pesos’ worth upward.

What a few hundred pesos converts to

Right now ₱1 equals about 19 sats. From there it is multiplication: ₱100 is a hundred times that, ₱500 five hundred times, ₱1,000 a thousand times. The second table on this page lists those amounts plus ₱10,000, in BTC and in sats.

Sats are easier to read than long decimals. 0.00001 BTC and 1,000 sats are the same thing, and the satoshi guide shows more conversions like it.

Sats also make small transfers easier to check. If someone says they sent you 20,000 sats, that is 0.0002 BTC, and the converter will tell you what it comes to in pesos at today’s rate.

How much is bitcoin today in PHP compared with dollars?

Bitcoin’s main markets quote it in US dollars, and a peso figure is generally that dollar quote converted at the peso-dollar rate. So the peso price carries Bitcoin’s own moves plus any shift in the exchange rate. The 1-year chart here is drawn in pesos, so it shows both together. On days when the peso moves more than Bitcoin does, the peso line can rise or fall while the dollar line barely changes.

To see the dollar figure on its own, open the home page.

A few pesos’ difference between sites

No two price sites pull from exactly the same trades at exactly the same instant. Add a different exchange rate and their peso figures drift apart slightly. That is normal, and it is why you may see a slightly different number in a money app. Read how prices work to see the sources behind this page, or use the Bitcoin calculator for amounts the tables leave out.

If the gap looks large rather than slight, check that the other figure is in pesos and not US dollars, since both are often shown on the same screen.
